Our partnership
Leukaemia Care is the UK’s leading leukaemia charity. For over 50 years, Leukaemia Care have been dedicated to ensuring that everyone affected by leukaemia receives the best possible diagnosis, information, advice, treatment and support.
Through our joint program – CAR-T Away From Home, the Leukaemia Care and Dalata partnership will support leukaemia patients aged between 0-25 years old. The hotel group will be providing long stay accommodation close to the hospitals that can administer a new treatment called CAR-T, which requires daily hospital visits for around 30 days.
Only 9 hospitals in Great Britain offer this treatment and the locations match conveniently with Dalata hotels, with this project ensuring it is possible for patients to get the treatment they need. Through fundraising, financial grants are also offered to these patients to help buy food and cover any additional travel costs while receiving treatment.
We are proud to announce that the partnership raised a huge £69,404 in 2023 and we are looking to build on this success in 2024

Dalata Hotel Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Des McCann said the company is proud to be continuing its charity work to support Leukaemia Care over the coming years.
He said: “Great consideration has gone into selecting our charity partners. Our approach is to engage with our teams to understand the issues they care about which then allows us to build a more meaningful partnership. All of our charities are focussed on helping to save lives. We know the pandemic has put health care providers under extreme strain, both in Ireland and the UK, therefore it was important to us to select charities which do so much great work in helping to support our health services.”
